Who We Are

At Driftwood Communications we’re pioneers in the telecom industry, dedicated to designing, building, and activating comprehensive networks. Headquartered in Saanichton we serve as a vital hub for Vancouver Island and maintain satellite offices throughout Western Canada to extend our reach. With a legacy spanning three decades, we specialize in delivering solutions that connect communities, empower businesses, and advance technology.

At Driftwood, we don’t just build networks—we build lasting relationships and drive innovation. We’re now looking for a Construction Coordinator to join our HQ team.

The Construction Coordinator will play a key role in improving the efficiency of our construction operations and will report to and work closely with our National Manager, Operations. In this role you’ll actively interface between Project Managers and construction crews by handling administrative tasks, ensuring smooth communication, and proactively removing operational roadblocks.

You'll be responsible for data entry, coordinating resources, tracking project progress, and ensuring all required elements (flagging, tree trimming, permits, materials, etc.) are in place to keep projects on schedule.

To be successful in this role, the Construction Coordinator is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and thrives solving problems autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Victoria, BC. We’re looking for this person to join us at our Veyaness Road office.

Type: Permanent, full-time

Compensation: $55,000 - $63,000 annually

In this role, you will...

  • Act as the primary administrative support for construction teams, bringing creative solutions to emerging problems.

  • Work with the leadership team to create new processes that make work easier.

  • Enter and manage construction crew timecards and project data when needed.

  • Work with Construction supervisors to coordinate and schedule third-party vendors as needed (flagging, tree trimming, permits, locates etc.).

  • Work closely with the construction crews to ensure they have maps, permits, and other paperwork that they need.

  • Proactively communicate with construction crews to resolve administrative roadblocks via phone calls, text messages, and emails.

  • Work closely with Project Managers to track project progress and readiness, and update calendars in Outlook, SharePoint, and project management software.

  • Build strong relationships with construction crews, managers, and leadership team via Teams, emails, and phone calls.

  • Maintain organized records of workflows, materials, and labour, in office and in the cloud.

  • Support Driftwood’s culture of health and safety.

You bring...

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Data Validation, etc.).

  • Familiarity with workflow automation and AI tools is an asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tailor their communication style to different audiences such as field crews, vendors, and management.

  • Strong problem-solving ability to address field issues proactively.

  • Attention to detail — you can edit documents, create processes for different audiences, and ensure your work is free from errors.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Experience in construction coordination, scheduling, or logistics is a plus.

At Driftwood Communications, we value every application. While we can only respond to those selected for an interview, we appreciate your interest and look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to our team.

Please note that applicants must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship and be currently located in Victoria. We are unable to support work visas of any kind.
