As an uninvited settler on W̱SÁNEĆ territory, John is grateful to live on these lands and acknowledges his privilege in calling this place home. John’s family came to Canada from the Netherlands, and he grew up on and around the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples in what is colonially known as Toronto, now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis. John’s background as a Professional Engineer focussed on telecom brought him to the west coast where he worked for BC Systems then TELUS, where he supported various IT projects with the BC Government. John is a certified Lumina Spark practitioner. John works with Sarah as the logistical, technical and administrative lead and all-round problem-solver. John enjoys being on or near the water, and never walks a beach without a bag to pick up garbage.
Political shifts in the US and across Canada are affecting our workplaces. As leaders and HR professionals, you’re likely feeling these pressures firsthand. Lumina Spark is a tool designed to help leaders, individuals and teams navigate workplace change by fostering adaptability, agility and resilience through increased self-awareness and a deeper understanding of others. Lumina leverages a personality style portrait to help you understand and manage your own responses at three levels: your natural inclinations and preferences, how you show up in day-to-day situations, and how you react when stressed or overextended. It also helps you to better understand how others are responding to change so you can meet them where they are at. More information about Lumina Spark
